Housing is considered a basic human need, but for some individuals, owning a house is more about flaunting their wealth and status. The Ambani family, one of the richest business families in the world, owns the most expensive house globally, located in India.

Named after a mythical island, the 27-story skyscraper, Antilia, is valued at a whopping USD 2 billion or AED 7,345,800,000. The building was designed by American architectural firm Perkins and Will and constructed by Australian company Leighton Holdings.

Situated on Cumballa Hill in Mumbai, the 400,000 square feet building is a vertical mansion with six levels of parking space for over 160 cars, multiple lounges, a ballroom, a movie theatre, 3 helipads, 9 high-speed elevators, a swimming pool, a gym, a temple, a snow room, hanging gardens, and a yoga studio.

The mansion has around 600 caretakers, all of whom reside within the premises, to maintain it. It has been engineered to withstand an earthquake of magnitude 8 on the Richter scale.

The Antilia features a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the Hindu god of wisdom and good luck. The temple is on the eighth floor and has a ceiling made of crystal and gold.

Antilia derives most of its energy from solar panels and employs rainwater harvesting systems to conserve water. Due to these features, it is nicknamed the "Green Tower of Mumbai."
